1. Strict Safety Isolation & Lockout Procedures
- Completely shut down main power supply and engage lockout/tagout procedure.
- Ensure all hydraulic pressure is safely released before any action.
- Absolutely critical to prevent accidental restart while personnel are working inside the compression chamber.
2. Identifying the Root Cause of the Jam
- Carefully inspect the compression chamber to identify the blockage.
- Jams typically occur from uncrushable foreign objects (solid steel blocks, stones) or uneven material feeding.
- Identifying the exact obstruction is essential for safe and effective clearance.
3. Safe Removal of Trapped Materials
- Use appropriate tools (pry bars, specialized hooks) – never place hands directly into the hazard zone.
- If tightly wedged, use auxiliary equipment (grab steel machine) to safely extract material.
- Avoid causing structural damage to internal components during removal.
4. System Inspection & Safe Restart
- Thoroughly inspect for structural damage, bent guide rails, or compromised hydraulic seals.
- Confirm compression chamber is entirely clear and all safety guards are reinstalled.
- Power back on and test with an empty cycle before resuming full production.
