1. Main Role Is Coarse Shredding
- Mainly designed for volume reduction and pre‑shredding.
- Uses two counter‑rotating shafts with interlocking cutters to tear, shear, and squeeze material.
- Output is usually coarse and irregular.
- Cannot guarantee highly uniform particles by itself.
2. Output Size Depends on Cutter Configuration
- Particle size influenced by cutter thickness, cutter spacing, shaft speed, and chamber structure.
- Narrower cutter spacing and suitable cutter shape can make output smaller and more consistent.
- Result is still less uniform than a single shaft shredder with a screen.
3. Screen & Second Stage Equipment Improve Uniformity
- If uniform particles are required, match with downstream equipment.
- A screen, trommel, secondary crusher, or single shaft shredder can control final particle size more precisely.
- Double shaft shredder works as the first stage to reduce large waste into manageable pieces.
4. Confirm Output Requirement Before Selection
- For export projects, confirm target particle size, material type, moisture content, and downstream process.
- Double shaft shredder can produce relatively consistent coarse pieces.
- Strict particle uniformity usually needs a complete crushing line rather than a single machine.
