1. High Density Reduces Water Absorption
- Briquettes are formed under high hydraulic pressure without heating or binders.
- Particles are compacted into a dense cylindrical block.
- Compared with loose chips, briquettes have less surface exposure and fewer voids.
- Absorbs less moisture and is less likely to scatter during handling.
2. Briquettes Are Not Waterproof or Coated
- Metal chip briquettes are still made of loose particles that have been mechanically compressed.
- Not sealed, sintered, or coated.
- Prolonged contact with water, rain, or humid storage can allow moisture to reach the surface and internal gaps.
- For steel or cast iron chips, this may increase rust risk if stored outdoors for a long time.
3. Oil & Moisture Content Affect Performance
- If original chips contain cutting fluid or moisture, the Y83 press can squeeze out part of the liquid.
- Helps produce drier and more stable briquettes.
- If chips are stored wet before pressing, or finished briquettes are kept in a wet environment, surface may corrode.
- Block may lose strength after long exposure.
4. Store Briquettes Under Cover for Best Results
- Y83 should be presented as producing high‑density, furnace‑ready metal briquettes rather than waterproof blocks.
- Store briquettes indoors and keep them away from rainwater.
- Avoid long outdoor stacking.
- Confirm expected density, block weight, and moisture tolerance with the manufacturer.
