1. Prepare Before Cleaning
- Turn off the main power to the equipment
- Ensure the hydraulic system is fully depressurized
- Prepare specialized cleaning tools: soft brush, lint-free cotton cloth, neutral detergent
- Wear protective gloves, goggles, and other safety equipment
Important: Depressurizing prevents accidental blade movement during cleaning
2. Preliminary Cleaning of Blade Surface
- Wear protective gear before starting
- Use a soft-bristled brush to remove loose debris (metal chips, dust)
- Clean in direction away from cutting edge to avoid hand injuries
- Use compressed air gun (low pressure setting) to remove fine debris from blade gaps
3. Deep Cleaning of the Blade
- Spray neutral detergent evenly over blade surface and gaps
- Allow detergent to sit to dissolve stubborn stains (oil, rust)
- Dip cotton cloth in detergent and wipe along blade length
- Focus on cutting edge and working surface contacting sheet material
- For thick oxide layers, gently polish with special metal rust-removing cotton pad
4. Post-Cleaning Inspection & Maintenance
- Wipe remaining detergent with clean cotton cloth dipped in water
- Thoroughly dry with clean cotton cloth to prevent rust
- Inspect blade edge for damage (nicks, curling)
- Measure blade clearance to ensure it meets standards
- Apply special anti-rust lubricant to extend blade life
5. Cleaning and Finishing
- Collect all debris, discarded rags, and waste properly
- Store cleaning tools and protective equipment in designated location
- Power on equipment and perform dry run
- Check that blades operate properly after cleaning
