Pre-Start Safety and Equipment Inspection
Before beginning operation, conduct thorough safety and equipment checks to prevent malfunctions or accidents.
Visual Inspection
Examine the entire machine visually:
- Check the shear blade for damage like cracks or dull edges
- Inspect hydraulic hoses and connections for leaks
- Verify safety guards are properly installed and secured
Power Source Preparation
- Electric models: Ensure stable power supply and check for worn wiring
- Diesel models: Check fuel levels and engine oil
- Turn on main power switch or start diesel engine
- Wait for control panel lights to illuminate
Hydraulic System Priming and Check
- Activate hydraulic pump to circulate oil
- This warms the oil and ensures consistent pressure
- Observe pressure gauge for normal readings
- If abnormal pressure, shut down and inspect
Test Run Without Load
- Use controls to move shear blade up and down
- Verify smooth blade movement and control response
- Listen for unusual noises indicating mechanical issues
- Once confirmed functional, machine is ready for materials
Note: Always follow manufacturer's specific guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment during operation.
